Learn self-defence techniques, adaptable to suit varying abilities. Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to build on existing skills, our structured approach ensures steady progress for everyone.
We provide a fun, encouraging atmosphere where students develop their Martial Arts techniques with confidence, focus, and discipline. These skills will benefit them both inside and outside the Dojo (Training Hall).
Martial Arts offers more than physical training. We place strong emphasis on core values such as respect, perseverance, and teamwork.
Courses run throughout the year, offering ongoing opportunities to expand knowledge and develop through our structured Syllabus.
Tuition is provided from the age of 4 years upwards by our professional Coaches who are fully insured, first aid trained and hold Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Services) Checks.

Valor Combat Systems is also proud to hold the Safeguarding Code in Martial Arts. Funded by the National Lottery, this scheme was launched by the Sports Minister in early 2018 and is delivered through a group of partners and experts in safeguarding such as the Child Protection in Sport Unit (NSPCC) and Sport England. As such, any Martial Arts Club/Organisation or individual in England who has achieved the Safeguarding Code in Martial Arts, has successfully demonstrated to us that they have a good working knowledge of quality safeguarding practices.
Once you have booked your child into their first class, a confirmation email will be sent to you and details will be forwarded onto the relevant Sensei (Club Coach) for your chosen class.

A Japanese Close Combat Martial Arts System, focusing on throws, strikes, locks, ground techniques and weaponry.

A Hybrid Martial Arts System, combining Kickboxing, Kung Fu, Ju Jitsu and Filipino Martial Arts.

A Martial Arts Weaponry System, focusing on traditional Japanese and Filipino Martial Arts weaponry. These include Kali Sticks, Jo Staff, Nunchaku, Tonfa, Flexible weaponry and Adaptable weaponry. *Please Note* This style is provided by Courses held throughout the year.

VALOR COMBAT SYSTEMS STRUCTURE

Our students focus on individual growth, working towards specific goals at their own pace. Achievement is recognised through a Belt System, where each new level is marked by a different colour. They are taught that each belt is earned through hard work and dedication, not just ‘given’ to them - a principle to encourage self-esteem and maintain motivation.

Each technique is broken down into manageable stages to promote gradual learning. Repetition is key to developing fluidity, spatial awareness, co-ordination and understanding.

We place a strong emphasis on self-control and concentration, especially when working with a partner (uke), enhancing both focus and teamwork.

Incorporating competitive elements into our classes teaches students the importance of taking turns, empathy, and learning to cope with setbacks - all crucial aspects of building a resilient and respectful character.

There are various structured Syllabuses within our styles designed to develop Martial Arts skills across different age groups and abilities: -

Mini Samurai: Valor Ju Jitsu/Mini Raion: Valor Precision Combat (Ages 4–6)
Junior Samurai: Valor Ju Jitsu/Junior Raion: Valor Precision Combat (Ages 7–15)
Adult (Ages 16+)

While the Mini and Junior Samurai/Raion Syllabuses are age-based, progression is ultimately determined by the student’s understanding, coordination, and physical ability. Some overlap may occur, and certain techniques may be more challenging based on size or development. Each student is individually assessed by their Sensei (Club Coach) to ensure readiness for progression to the Junior Samurai/Junior Raion Syllabuses.

Belt System and Gradings

A Grading is a practical assessment of your Martial Arts skills. To progress to the next level and achieve a new belt, you are required to pass a Grading (exam).

All beginner students start with a White Belt. They then progress through a series of coloured belts, following our structured Grading System.

The Mini Samurai/Mini Raion follow a slightly different path - they wear White Belts with coloured stripes to signify progress.

When a student is deemed to be proficient, their Sensei will invite them within their class, via a letter presentation.

Grading examinations are held every four months, but not all students will be eligible each time. Eligibility depends on consistent training, technical ability, and overall progress, as assessed by the Sensei.
